MONTREAL, Nov. 27, 2024 /CNW/ – We are excited to announce an exemplary partnership between the bakery Le Pain dans les Voiles, located in the Villeray neighborhood of Montreal, and RAPLIQ, an initiative aimed at improving accessibility for all customers, including those with disabilities.
Although making their bakery fully accessible presents insurmountable technical challenges, Le Pain dans les Voiles – Villeray has taken innovative steps to improve access to their products for everyone. Through their unwavering determination and creativity, the bakery has implemented bold solutions such as:
Enhanced Online Ordering Service: A user-friendly website with accessibility features for all individuals.
Portable Point of Sale Terminals and Removable Tablets: Portable point of sale terminals are available on request to allow employees to serve customers outside who cannot enter. Additionally, removable tablets are provided to help employees showcase available products.
Inclusive Communication Lines: Staff trained to meet the needs of people with disabilities and to facilitate orders by phone or through mobile tablets.
This collaboration clearly demonstrates that innovation and inclusion can transform obstacles into opportunities.

RAPLIQ is a pan-Québec organization that supports and assists people with disabilities who are victims of discrimination by helping them defend, claim, and promote their rights, with the goal of eradicating the discrimination they often face.
The Bakery “Le Pain dans les Voiles” opened its doors in Villeray in 2012, following the opening of the first Le Pain dans les Voiles bakery in Mont Saint-Hilaire in 2009. At Le Pain dans les Voiles bakeries, we work artisanally, adapting our know-how to the flours, sourdough, and products we use.
